Same-day courier service in Croydon
Tasito provides dedicated same-day courier services across Croydon and the surrounding business areas, including Purley Way, Beddington Lane, Thornton Road and Prologis Park. From urgent documents and trade stock to pallets, equipment and time-critical parts, we collect directly from your premises and transport the consignment straight to its destination in a vehicle matched to the load. Croydon sits outside the Congestion Charge, so a delivery here carries none of the central London charging that applies a few miles north.
There are two ways to reach Croydon and they cost different amounts. We set both out before the job rather than picking one and putting the difference on your invoice.
Two routes, two bills
The M25 route crosses at Dartford. A two-axle van pays £4.20 for a one-off payment or £3.60 on a pre-pay account, free between 22:00 and 06:00, rates from 1 September 2025. The charge is small. The queue on the approach is the worst delay anywhere on our network.
The tunnel route crosses at Blackwall or Silvertown. A large van on Auto Pay pays £2.60 off-peak and £6.80 at peak, charged 06:00 to 22:00 daily, each crossing separately. Peak southbound is 16:00 to 19:00 Monday to Friday, which is exactly when a Croydon delivery tends to be running. After the tunnel you still have south London to cross.
Croydon is inside the Ultra Low Emission Zone at £12.50 a day for a non-compliant van. We send ULEZ-compliant vans into London, and if the right van for a job ever is not, we tell you about the £12.50 before we set off. The Congestion Charge does not apply.
We tell you the route, what it costs and what it does to the window. On a bad day neither answer is good and we would rather say that at booking than at four in the afternoon.

Where the industrial work is
Croydon's trade and industrial space runs along two corridors and they are the easiest part of this job.
Purley Way is the main one: trade counters, retail warehousing, vehicle businesses and distribution units along the A23, with estate and retail park access rather than kerbside loading. Thornton Road Industrial Estate sits off it.
Beddington Lane on the Mitcham side is the heavier end, with industrial and logistics units including the Prologis Park Beddington development. Docks, forklifts and slot bookings, which is the simplest case for us as long as we have the gate reference.
The town centre and the offices around East Croydon are a different job. Restricted loading means the van cannot wait, so we need a contact able to come down and we come in with a smaller vehicle.

What decides the timing
Collection in Essex still happens quickly. The delivery leg to Croydon is a long run through the worst crossings in the region, and anyone promising a fixed arrival time without asking what time of day it is has not thought about it.
Give us the deadline, let us tell you whether it is achievable, and if the answer is no then next-day courier into a booked morning slot is the better buy.

What we send
One pallet in a short wheelbase at 450kg, two standard or three Euro in a medium, three standard or four Euro in a long wheelbase at 3.3m, four standard or five Euro in an extra-long, six in a Luton at 1,000kg. The box Luton has a tail lift, which is what a Purley Way trade delivery without a forklift needs. The curtain-side loads from the side at the Beddington Lane units.
Our fleet is FORS accredited and renewed for 2026, which covers the construction work around the town centre. The fleet page has the detail.

Other services we run in Croydon
Next-day courier, which on this route is often the sensible recommendation rather than a downgrade. Multi-drop if you have several south London drops, because getting here is the expensive part and adding stops once we have arrived is comparatively cheap. Two-man delivery for town centre addresses with no loading access.

Croydon questions
It depends on the time of day and which route we take in, so we give you a real window once we know when you need it rather than quoting a flat number. Purley Way and Beddington Lane are the easiest addresses to reach. The town centre in either peak is the slowest.
Either the M25 across the Dartford Crossing or through the Blackwall or Silvertown tunnel and across south London. Dartford is £4.20 for a van, the tunnels £2.60 to £6.80 depending on time and Auto Pay. The charges are small, the queues are the real cost, and we tell you the route and the figure before we go.
The route and the time of day, not the charges. Croydon sits outside the central Congestion Charge zone, so that never applies. What varies is which way we come in and whether the job crosses the river at a tolled hour, which is why we price both options before the job rather than after it.
Purley Way or Beddington Lane. Purley Way has trade counters, retail warehousing and distribution units with estate and retail park access. Beddington Lane is the heavier industrial and logistics end with docks and forklifts. Both beat the town centre comfortably.
For the larger logistics operations, yes, and most of them run slots. Without a reference the driver waits at the barrier and that time is chargeable. Gate, slot and reference at the point of ordering fixes it.
Mid-morning, comfortably. You miss the southbound tunnel peak between 16:00 and 19:00, which is both the dearest hour to cross and the slowest, and you miss the worst of the Dartford approach in the other direction. An early booking on this route buys more than it does anywhere else we go.
Yes, and on this route it is the best value we offer. The expensive part is getting across the river and round to Croydon. Once we are here, two or three more drops cost comparatively little.
4pm is the fleet cut-off, Monday to Friday, and for Croydon the honest limit is well before it. A 4pm collection arrives at the river in the southbound peak, which is both the slowest hour and the most expensive one to cross in.
Send us the postcodes and what is moving. You get a price in seconds and a driver within the hour.
