Same-day courier services in Colchester

Forty miles up the A12. Same-day collections from Severalls, Whitehall and Moorside, with an honest answer on the collection window.

Same-day courier service in Colchester

Tasito provides dedicated same-day courier services across Colchester, including Severalls Business Park, the Whitehall estate, Moorside and East Gates, and the institutional addresses at the garrison and the university. From trade stock and machine parts to pallets, equipment and time-critical parts, we collect directly from your premises and transport the consignment straight to its destination in a vehicle matched to the load.

It is the furthest inland location we cover and it carries the second highest search demand in Essex, so it is worth doing properly. It also deserves a straight answer on timing, which is where this starts.

The honest version of the hour

We can often collect inside the hour across Essex, London and much of the South East, and across most of Essex that holds.

Forty miles up the A12 is the edge of it. If a van is already working the A12 corridor we can be with you quickly. If the nearest suitable vehicle is in Basildon, forty miles is not an hour at four in the afternoon and we will not pretend it is.

What we will do is tell you where the nearest suitable van is when you call and give you a window we believe. If the deadline cannot be met we say so and point you at next-day courier into a booked morning slot, which on this route is often the better buy. That is worth more than an optimistic yes.

Which estate, and why it changes the job

Colchester's employment land sits mostly north of the town and the three main areas are not equally easy to serve.

Severalls Business Park is the largest at roughly 73 hectares, with Telford Way, Wyncolls Road, Heckworth Close and Brunel Way among the addresses on it. Direct access off the A12 junctions, estate roads and yards, so this is the straightest part of Colchester for a van and where a Luton and six pallets is realistic.

Whitehall Industrial Estate is about 30 hectares and the council's own employment land study records parking difficulties there. That is worth knowing in advance, because it means a van may not be able to sit outside your unit while you load.

East Gates and Moorside is the one to flag hardest. The same study found inadequate access and servicing there along with parking problems, and judged some existing operations incompatible with neighbouring uses. In practice that means a tight approach and limited room, so for Moorside we come in smaller than the pallet count alone would suggest and we need a contact who can meet the driver.

Elsewhere, Cuckoo Farm south of the A12 carries the FlaktWoods plant, the University Research Park is aimed at high-technology and knowledge-economy firms, and Stane Park and Tollgate sit on the Stanway side.

Out of town, Anderson's at Marks Tey handles timber sales, storage and processing with direct A12 access, which makes it one of the easier rural collections we do, and Langham Airfield carries light engineering firms and garages.

The garrison and the institutions

Colchester Garrison is a significant employer and military sites run their own access: passes, security, named contacts and sometimes vehicle checks. None of that is a problem arranged in advance. Tell us the gate, the contact and the pass arrangements at booking, because a driver without clearance waits outside and that time is yours.

Colchester Hospital and the University of Essex both deliver to departments rather than a single reception, so we need the department name as well as the address.

Charges

None. Colchester is Essex. ULEZ and the Congestion Charge only matter if the delivery address is in London and we tell you which apply before we go.

What we send

One pallet in a short wheelbase at 450kg, two standard or three Euro in a medium at 800kg, three standard or four Euro in a long wheelbase at 3.3m, four standard or five Euro in an extra-long at 4.2m, six in a Luton at 1,000kg.

The curtain-side Luton loads from the side by forklift for the Severalls units. The box Luton has a tail lift. Our fleet is FORS accredited and renewed for 2026.

Where Colchester work goes

Witham and Chelmsford south on the A12, which is why a multi-stop A12 run beats separate jobs. Braintree west. Clacton-on-Sea and Harwich east. London at the far end.

Other services we run in Colchester

Next-day courier, frequently the right recommendation on a forty-mile run rather than a downgrade. Multi-drop along the A12 corridor. Two-man delivery for institutional and retail deliveries. Planning, routing and sorting for repeating movements, which is where the distance stops being a problem.

Colchester questions

Sometimes, and it depends on where the nearest suitable van is. If one is already working the A12 corridor, yes. If the nearest is in Basildon, forty miles at four in the afternoon is not an hour and we will say so. Call and we will tell you where the van is rather than quoting a slogan.

Severalls, comfortably. It is the largest at around 73 hectares with direct access off the A12 junctions, estate roads and yards. Telford Way, Wyncolls Road, Heckworth Close and Brunel Way are all on it.

Parking, which the council's own employment land study records for that estate. It does not stop a collection but it can mean the van cannot sit outside your unit while you load. Have the consignment ready and it is a non-issue.

That is the one to warn us about. The same study found inadequate access and servicing there as well as parking difficulties, so we come in smaller than the pallet count alone suggests and we need somebody able to meet the driver.

If the deadline is tomorrow morning, next-day. It is cheaper, it gets a booked slot and on a forty-mile run it is more reliable. Same-day earns its money when today's deadline has a real consequence behind it.

Yes, with the access arranged in advance. Military sites run passes, security and named contacts, so give us the gate, the contact and the pass arrangements at booking. A driver without clearance waits outside on your time.

Yes, and both need the department rather than just the address. Large institutional sites deliver to departments rather than one reception, and a driver without the department name ends up in a car park.

Considerably. The forty miles up the A12 is the expensive part. Once a van is on that road, adding Witham or Chelmsford costs comparatively little. Three separate bookings pays the A12 mileage three times.
