Same-day courier services in Witham

Same-day collections from Freebournes and Eastways, right beside the A12. The natural middle stop on a Chelmsford to Colchester run.

Same-day courier service in Witham

Tasito provides dedicated same-day courier services across Witham, including Freebournes Industrial Estate on Freebournes Road and Moss Road, and Eastways Industrial Estate. From palletised stock and fittings to light manufacturing parts and time-critical consignments, we collect directly from your premises and deliver in a vehicle matched to the load. Both estates sit close to the A12 junction with estate road access and yard loading, so we are off the main road and into the yard without working through the town centre.

Witham's real advantage is where it sits, and it is worth being specific about what that saves you.

The A12 run

Chelmsford, Witham and Colchester sit in a line on the A12. If your consignment involves two of those three, or all three, it is one job rather than two or three.

That matters because same-day work is priced on distance, vehicle and urgency. The mileage up the A12 is the expensive part. Once a van is on that road, adding a stop at Witham costs very little, because it is the middle of the route rather than a detour off it.

So the honest advice for a Witham business shipping to or from Chelmsford or Colchester regularly is to look at whether those movements can be combined. A collection at Witham with a drop at Colchester and another at Chelmsford on the way back is one route. Three same-day bookings for the same work costs considerably more and achieves less.

Where we collect

Freebournes Industrial Estate, on Freebournes Road and Moss Road, and Eastways Industrial Estate are the two main sites. Both sit close to the A12 junction with estate road access and yard loading, so a Luton gets in and forklift loading is normal.

The work is light industrial and trade: palletised stock, fittings, light manufacturing parts, and goods moving along the A12 corridor in both directions.

Witham town centre carries retail and offices with restricted loading, but most of what we move here never goes near it.

The A12

Northbound at Witham and southbound at Hatfield Peverel are the two spots that slow down, and the A12 has no useful parallel road through this stretch. When it closes, the diversion is through the villages and it is slow for a loaded van.

Because the estates are right at the junction, a Witham collection is less exposed to this than a Chelmsford or Colchester one. We are on and off the A12 quickly rather than running along it.

Charges

None. Witham is Essex, outside the ULEZ and the Congestion Charge. Charges only come in if the delivery is in London.

What we send

One pallet in a short wheelbase at 450kg with a 2.1m load space, two standard or three Euro in a medium at 800kg, three standard or four Euro in a long wheelbase at 3.3m, four standard or five Euro in an extra-long at 4.2m, six of either in a Luton at 1,000kg.

The curtain-side Luton loads from the side by forklift, which is what both estates want. The box Luton has a tail lift for anywhere without one.

Our fleet is FORS accredited and renewed for 2026, which matters for anything heading on to a London construction site.

The fleet page has every class and UK pallet sizes explained covers standard against Euro footprints.

Witham questions

One job, not two. The three towns sit in a line on the A12 and the mileage is the expensive part of same-day work. A collection at Witham with a drop at Colchester and another at Chelmsford is one route, and it costs considerably less than booking the same movements separately.

About twenty-one miles up the A130 and the A12, and both estates sit close to the junction so we are off the main road quickly. Across Essex we quote collection inside the hour and Witham normally sits comfortably inside that.

Less so. Northbound at Witham and southbound at Hatfield Peverel are the slow spots, but because the estates are right at the junction we are on and off the A12 rather than running along it. A Chelmsford or Colchester collection is more exposed.

Yes, they are minutes apart and both sit close to the A12 junction, so a collection at each is one job rather than two. If you are shipping between the two estates it is barely a journey at all, and worth asking us about as a scheduled run if it happens weekly.

The diversion goes through the villages and it is slow for a loaded van. We will call you with a revised time rather than letting the tracking go quiet, and where the closure is predictable we will route round it from the start.

Yes, where loading is restricted, so we come in smaller and need the consignment ready on arrival. Most Witham work is on the estates though, where access is much easier.

Six in a Luton at 1,000kg across the load, in a 4.2m by 2.0m by 2.1m space. Four standard or five Euro in an extra-long wheelbase. Give us the individual pallet weights, because weight usually runs out before floor space does.

If the movements repeat week to week, yes. Planning them as a route gets you fixed pricing and more reliable timings, and it costs less than a run of separate same-day bookings. That is planning, routing and sorting rather than same-day.
