Fragile time-critical courier in Lakeside

Tasito provides dedicated fragile and time-critical courier services across Lakeside and the surrounding business areas, including the service yards inside the centre, the retail parks and the units around the outside of it. From display units and point-of-sale material to glass, mirrored fit-out panels and equipment going into a unit, we collect directly from your premises and take the consignment straight to its destination in a vehicle matched to the item, with the handling agreed before anything is loaded. With Lakeside around eleven miles from our Essex base along the A13, we are well placed for quick deliveries and onward runs into London, Kent and throughout the UK.

Most of what we move into Lakeside is retail and shopfitting work, timed to a service yard window that is usually early and ahead of trading. Bookings run until 4pm, and the yard's window is the time we plan around.

The parts of Lakeside we collect from

The service yards inside the centre take deliveries on their own timetable, usually early and before the centre fills. Give us the window at booking and the run is built back from it, with a named person in the yard expecting the driver.

The yards are entered separately from the public car parks and several service roads run one way, so the yard name is worth more to a driver than the postcode. The retail parks and the units outside the centre have easier access and longer hours, though most still prefer a delivery before trading picks up.

How the roads behave

The A13 is the road in from Essex and London, and the junction into the centre is the pinch point. When the Dartford Crossing approach queues, the tailback reaches it even when your job is nowhere near Kent, so we build that into the window rather than quoting a clear road.

Lakeside is in Thurrock, outside ULEZ and the Congestion Charge. If the delivery carries on into Kent, the Dart Charge applies at the crossing, and we include it in the price with the route.

How the consignment is handled

Your consignment travels on its own, with no co-loading and no depot stop. Display pieces are secured upright, glass and mirrored panels stand braced with the edges covered, and nothing rests on a finished face.

We do not pack or build cases. The driver will tell you at your premises if the wrapping will not take a yard transfer, and an item that needs a case is flagged at booking. Our part ends with the signature from the named person at the agreed point.

What we send and what fits

Display pieces, equipment and single items usually go in a short wheelbase, which gets nearest the unit door and keeps the carry short. Longer panels go in a long or extra-long wheelbase.

A Luton covers bulky pieces, and the box body's tail lift suits a yard with no dock. Anything too long for a van door goes on the flat bed. The fleet page has dimensions for every class.

Where Lakeside work goes

London is west along the A13 and Basildon is east. Kent is across the Dartford Crossing. Other Thurrock addresses sit on the same stretch of road, so a second drop nearby adds comparatively little.

Other services we run in Lakeside

Same-day courier where the item is sturdy and only the clock matters. Two-man delivery for fixtures and display units going inside a shop. Multi-drop for several units on one visit. Next-day courier for a delicate item that can wait for a morning slot.

Lakeside questions

Inside the window the centre has given you, which tends to be early and ahead of trading. Pass us the window at booking and we work back from it. Our 4pm cut-off is for taking the booking; the yard's hours decide the delivery.

No. Packing and case-making are separate trades. We carry what you hand over, and if the wrapping will not survive the journey, the driver will tell you at your premises before loading.

The yard entrance, the window, a named contact and a mobile number. The yards do not share the car park entrances and some service roads run one way, so a postcode alone can put a driver in the wrong part of the site.

Which face it is. That decides where the blankets sit and where the straps go, and it is settled before loading rather than in the yard.

It is the main risk on this run, so we quote the window with the crossing queue built in. If it changes while the driver is out, you get a revised time from us straight away.

A named person, agreed when you book. We would rather wait for the right person than hand a one-off display piece to whoever is on the gate.

Yes. The yards are busier, slots are tighter and the roads round the centre are slower, so we plan against your window. If replenishment repeats through the season, ask us about a planned route.

No. Lakeside is in Thurrock, outside ULEZ and the Congestion Charge. The Dart Charge applies only if the job carries on into Kent.
