Fragile time-critical courier in City of London

Tasito provides dedicated fragile and time-critical courier services across the City of London, including the towers around Bishopsgate and Fenchurch Street and the smaller offices on and around Cheapside and Chancery Lane. From documents and bundles to framed work, screens and IT equipment, we collect directly from your premises and take the consignment straight to the named recipient in a vehicle matched to the item, with the handling agreed before anything is loaded.

Most of what we move into the City is professional and office work: contracts and bundles with a deadline, presentation material, and equipment going into a boardroom or a server room. Bookings run until 4pm.

The parts of the City we deliver to

Loading bays are the exception at City addresses. The larger buildings take deliveries through booked basement bays with height restrictions, the main streets are red routes with timed controls, and many side streets close to loading by mid-morning.

So we need the company, the floor, a contact and a mobile, and a note at booking if someone is coming down to the vehicle. Name the person who has to sign and the driver waits for them, instead of leaving the item with a reception desk.

How the roads and charges work

The City is inside the Congestion Charge zone, so every job here picks it up, and it goes into the price at the start. ULEZ covers every London borough as well, and any charge that applies to the vehicle is in the price before we go.

From Essex the A13 is the usual way in. Morning deliveries are the easiest, before the side streets close to loading and the red route controls tighten.

How the consignment is handled

Your consignment travels on its own, with no co-loading and no depot stop. Framed and glazed work stands upright and braced with the edges covered, and cased equipment is restrained so it cannot move inside the body.

We do not pack or build cases. The driver will tell you before loading if the wrapping will not survive a delivery that finishes on a City pavement, and an item that needs a case is flagged at booking. Our part ends with the signature on the agreed floor.

What we send and what fits

Usually the smallest van we run. A short wheelbase takes documents, bundles, cased kit and single items, and it has the best chance of stopping somewhere legal.

For palletised goods into a larger building, the basement bay decides the vehicle, so a long wheelbase running twice often works where a Luton cannot get in. We settle that at booking. The fleet page has dimensions for every class.

Where City of London work goes

Canary Wharf is a short run east and Greenwich is across the river beyond it, and each has different charges, so tell us about every drop at once. The A13 is the road back to Essex.

Other services we run in the City of London

Same-day courier where the item takes ordinary handling and the deadline is the whole of it. Two-man delivery for equipment and office moves going up to a floor. Multi-drop across several City addresses in one planned run. Next-day courier for a delicate item that a morning slot tomorrow will cover.

City of London questions

Same-day gives you a dedicated vehicle and no depot handling. A fragile booking adds the agreement made first: how the item is secured, who meets the driver, which named person signs, and what happens if the packaging will not hold up.

No. Packing and case-making are separate trades. We carry what you present, and if the wrapping will not survive the journey, the driver will tell you at your end before loading.

In the price. The Congestion Charge applies to every City delivery, and you get the full figure when you book.

Yes. Give us the company, the floor, the contact name and a mobile number, and the driver waits for that person instead of leaving the item at reception.

Few City addresses have one. We send the smallest vehicle that suits the item and ask for someone to meet the driver at an agreed time, which we plan in at booking.

Sometimes. A height bar on a basement bay can rule out a Luton, and two trips in a long wheelbase will often work instead. We check the building before anything is loaded.

No. The Congestion Charge is a daily charge, so several City drops on one planned run are charged once. Tell us about all the drops when you book.

Bookings run until 4pm, and earlier is better. A late collection meets the evening traffic and may arrive after goods-in has closed, so give us the real deadline and we plan the run back from it.
