Fragile time-critical courier in Greenwich

Tasito provides dedicated fragile and time-critical courier services across Greenwich and the surrounding business areas, including Charlton Riverside, Anchor and Hope Lane, Bugsby's Way, the town centre and the Greenwich Peninsula. From instruments and screens to framed work, fit-out panels and prototypes, we collect directly from your premises and take the consignment straight to its destination in a vehicle matched to the item, with the handling agreed before anything is loaded.

Most of what we move in Greenwich is fit-out, venue and trade work, from the Charlton estates into the town centre and the peninsula. Bookings run until 4pm, and for a tunnel crossing the morning gives the most room.

The parts of Greenwich we collect from

Industrial land here is concentrated at Charlton Riverside. Anchor and Hope Lane carries the VIP Trading Estate and the VIP Industrial Estate, and Bugsby's Way and the Westminster Industrial Estate account for most of the rest. These are estate addresses with yards and room to turn.

The town centre is retail, hospitality and services with restricted loading, so early deliveries work best and we want someone waiting to receive the item. On the peninsula, venue procedures apply, with delivery windows and loading gates on event days, so give us both when you book.

How the roads and charges work

From Essex the river is crossed by the Blackwall or Silvertown tunnel, and both are charged in each direction. The southbound afternoon peak is the slowest time to cross, so a mid-morning delivery is usually the better booking. If a tunnel closes mid-job, you get a call with a new time and a new price.

Greenwich is inside ULEZ, which covers every London borough, and any charge that applies to the vehicle is in the price before we go. The Congestion Charge does not apply here.

How the consignment is handled

Your consignment travels on its own, with no co-loading and no depot stop. Screens, framed work and glazing stand upright and braced with the edges covered, and equipment is restrained so it cannot move. Name the finished surface at booking and the padding goes round it.

We do not pack or build cases. The driver will tell you at your loading door if the wrapping is not up to the journey, and an item that needs a case is flagged at booking. Our part ends with the signature at the agreed point.

What we send and what fits

Instruments, cased kit and single items go in a short wheelbase, which suits a town centre frontage with a tight kerb. Longer pieces go in a long or extra-long wheelbase, and the Charlton yards take a Luton without difficulty.

Ask for the box Luton where the delivery address has no forklift, since it carries a tail lift, and the curtain-side where a forklift can load it from the side. Lengths from an open storage yard go on the flat bed. The fleet page has dimensions for every class.

Where Greenwich work goes

Canary Wharf is across the river by the Blackwall tunnel, and the City is a short run beyond it. The way back to Essex is under the river and out along the A13.

Other services we run in Greenwich

Same-day courier where the item is sturdy and the clock is the whole brief. Two-man delivery into a venue or a frontage with no loading access. Multi-drop across Charlton and the peninsula in one planned run. Next-day courier for a delicate item that can wait for a morning slot.

Greenwich questions

Same-day already gives you a dedicated vehicle and no depot. A fragile booking also settles the hour, the crossing, how the item is restrained, who meets the driver and who signs, all before anything is loaded.

No. Packing and case-making are separate trades. We carry what you hand over, and if the wrapping will not survive the journey, the driver will tell you at your loading door before anything is loaded.

Each direction through the Blackwall or Silvertown tunnel is charged separately, and a delivery from Essex means crossing south and then coming back. The time of day also changes the charge, which is why the hour matters.

Mid-morning usually works best. The approach is moving, and the southbound afternoon peak through the tunnels is avoided.

One of the Charlton Riverside estates. They have yards and room to turn, so the van reaches the door and the carry by hand is short.

The options are the Woolwich Ferry or the M25 and the Dartford Crossing, where the Dart Charge applies. Neither is quick, so you get a call with the new time and the new price.

The delivery window, the loading gate and a contact. Event days have their own procedures, and with those three details the driver arrives inside the window.

Yes, with a second person booked with the vehicle. Loading is restricted around the centre and the pavements are busy, so we also agree a fixed time for the delivery.
