Fashion and retail courier services in Lakeside

Tasito carries fashion and retail work into Lakeside: replenishment stock, display and point-of-sale material, fit-out items and equipment for the stores, delivered through the centre's service yards and into the retail parks around it. Fashion and general retail stock make up most of it.

From our base it is about eleven miles west along the A13. The run is short, so almost all the planning goes into the yard window, and at Lakeside our 4pm booking cut-off is not the constraint. The yard's delivery hours are.

Planning, routing and sorting

The work that happens before the van moves. Routes built around your delivery windows, loads sorted and sequenced so each consignment comes off where it should, and one team accountable for the job from the first call to the last signature.

Same-day courier service

A dedicated vehicle for your consignment, collected within the hour across London, Essex, Kent and the Home Counties, and driven straight to the delivery address with nothing else on board. No depot, no overnight sort, no waiting for a van to fill up. The driver who collects your goods is the driver who delivers them.

Next-day courier service

For consignments that have to arrive tomorrow without paying same-day rates. Your goods are collected today and delivered the next working day, on a dedicated vehicle rather than through a parcel network, so nothing is handled twice and nothing sits in a depot overnight.

Two-man delivery

An extra pair of hands for the jobs one driver cannot do safely. Two crew on the vehicle, so heavy and bulky goods can be carried, manoeuvred through doorways and lifts, and put exactly where they need to go rather than left inside the front door.

Multi-drop courier service

A whole list of stops in one planned sequence, with booked goods-in windows as fixed points and every drop tracked to its address.

Fragile time-critical courier

Fragile and time-critical consignments driven straight to the delivery address, with no depot in between and the handling agreed before the van moves.

The service yard and the window

The centre takes deliveries through service yards inside booked windows, usually early and usually before shoppers arrive. Send us the window and the run is planned to fit it. A van that turns up after the yard has closed to deliveries has not delivered anything.

Around the centre some service roads are one way, and each yard is reached by its own entrance, away from the shoppers' car parks. That is why the yard name on your paperwork helps us more than a postcode, which on its own can send a driver into the public parking.

Retail parks around the centre

The retail parks and units outside the centre itself are easier to reach and keep longer delivery hours. Most still prefer deliveries before trading picks up, so a morning slot is the safe default for those addresses as well.

Several stores in one visit is the obvious fit here, given how many units sit in one place. We sequence the drops around the yard windows instead of the map, and you pay the mileage once instead of per store.

What we send for bulky, light stock

Lakeside stock is bulky before it is heavy. Hanging garments, boxed stock and display units fill a vehicle long before they reach its payload, so the question is floor and height. For hanging stock, give us the rails or the metres of hanging.

The Luton gives the most usable room we have: 4.2m by 2.0m by 2.1m, six pallets, 1,000kg, with a tail lift on the box version for yards without a dock. The extra-long wheelbase has the same 4.2m length but a slimmer body, taking four standard or five Euro pallets. For a single store with a tight window, a smaller van usually clears the yard faster and costs you less. Every vehicle is on the fleet page, UK pallet sizes explained covers the footprints, and the fleet is FORS accredited, renewed for 2026.

The run into Christmas

Lakeside shows the strongest seasonal pattern anywhere on our network. As autumn turns towards Christmas, yard slots become scarcer, the yards fill up and the roads round the centre slow down. If fit-out or replenishment falls in that stretch, send us the dates early and we plan a vehicle against them.

For weekly replenishment through that period, a scheduled route is cheaper and more reliable than a series of same-day jobs. We plan that as planning, routing and sorting, and we would rather set it up in October than take urgent bookings in December.

Where Lakeside retail work goes

Along the same corridor sit Grays, Thurrock, Purfleet-on-Thames and Tilbury. Basildon lies east, London is up the A13, and for south London, Croydon is the run that pairs best with Lakeside. Our way in is the A13 junction for the centre, which backs up when the Dartford Crossing queue on the M25 spills over, so an early slot gets extra time built in.

Lakeside is in Essex, so ULEZ and the Congestion Charge do not apply. The Dartford Crossing only comes in if the job carries on into Kent.

Other services we run at Lakeside

Next-day courier at Lakeside into a booked morning slot, which suits most retail replenishment better than same-day. Same-day courier at Lakeside when a store has sold out of something that is selling. Two-man delivery at Lakeside for display units and fixtures carried into the shop and positioned, with assembly left to your fitter. Fragile time-critical courier for display pieces that should not pass through a depot.

Our fashion and retail courier service covers the carry from the yard to the shop floor in more detail.

Lakeside questions

Inside the slot the centre gives you, normally early in the day before it gets busy. Tell us the slot when you book. Here the yard's hours decide it, and our 4pm cut-off does not.

The yard entrance, the slot and the name of whoever will meet the van. Some service roads are one way and each yard has its own entrance away from the car parks, so the yard name is more use to us than the postcode.

Very. Yards are busier, slots are harder to get and the roads round the centre move slower. For replenishment through that period, a scheduled route costs less and runs more reliably than a string of same-day bookings.

Usually the Luton, which has the most usable room in the fleet at 4.2m by 2.0m by 2.1m. If it is one store with a tight slot, a smaller van tends to clear the yard faster and costs less.

Yes, and with this many units in one place it is the sensible way to run it. The drops are ordered around each yard window and the mileage is paid once.

Yes, as two-man delivery. A crew of two carries the goods in and positions them, which is what fit-out and display units need. Assembly and installation are not included, so tell us if a fitter is coming.

It could. When the Dartford Crossing queue builds, it backs up the M25 and into the A13 junction we use for the centre. For a tight slot we allow time for that and do not quote you a clear road.

Next-day, in most cases. Yard windows are booked ahead, so a same-day premium rarely buys an earlier slot. Same-day earns its price when a store runs out of a line that is selling.
