Two-man delivery in Braintree

Tasito runs two-man delivery across Braintree, covering Springwood Industrial Estate on Springwood Drive and around Springwood Court, the retail units at Freeport Village, and the town centre and smaller commercial addresses in between. A crew of two travels with the vehicle, so display units, fixtures, machinery and office furniture are carried inside and positioned rather than dropped in a service yard.

Most crewed work here is retail fit-out going into a unit and manufacturing output coming off Springwood, and both turn on the receiving end rather than the loading one. Braintree is about twenty-six miles from us, up the A130 to the A12 and across, or straight up the A131, and bookings run until 4pm.

Where we collect in Braintree

Springwood is the main industrial site and the easiest part of the town for a vehicle: estate road access, yards, forklift loading and room for a Luton. A crewed collection off Springwood is quick, which leaves the time where it belongs, at the delivery end.

The town centre and the smaller units across Braintree cover the rest. The lanes around the town are narrower than the mapping suggests in places, so for a village address we want the postcode and a contact number rather than a street name on its own.

Freeport Village and the delivery window

Retail villages run service yard access on booked delivery windows rather than open loading, so that timetable governs the job instead of ours. Give us the window at booking and the run is built around it.

Deliveries into the village work best before trading picks up, which on a crewed fit-out matters more than it does on a pallet drop. Two people carrying stock and display units through a unit while the shop is quiet is a different morning from the same work at midday. The yard's hours also count for more than our 4pm cut-off, so give us the slot rather than the end of your working day.

What the crew does, and what it does not

Taken off the vehicle, carried into the unit, positioned where you want it, and the packaging removed where that was agreed at booking.

Fitting is not included. Shelving, point-of-sale stands and display units arrive in their sections and stay that way until a fitter comes, so send us their time if the two have to overlap inside the same window. Removing the old fixtures is a separate job with disposal attached to it and needs flagging in advance.

What we need at the delivery end is the detail that decides the carry: the floor, the lift and its internal depth, the tightest doorway between the yard and the shop floor, and the longest item in the load.

The A120, and the run to Stansted

Braintree is the one place on our network where the A120 is the main road rather than the A12 or the A127. It runs west to Stansted and the M11 and east to the A12 at Marks Tey, which means a crewed job from here towards Stansted never touches the M25 at all.

Galleys Corner is what slows the A120 locally, and the A12 northbound at Witham is the equivalent on the other route. We pick the road on the day, and on a crewed delivery the collection hour is set against the receiving window rather than the other way round.

What we send and what fits

Springwood loads are palletised, so load length is the number to check. One pallet in a short wheelbase at 450kg with 2.1m of space, two standard or three Euro in a medium at 800kg, three standard or four Euro in a long wheelbase at 3.3m, four standard or five Euro in an extra-long at 4.2m, and six of either in a Luton at 1,000kg in a 4.2m by 2.0m by 2.1m space.

The curtain-side Luton loads along its flank by forklift, which suits Springwood. The box Luton has a tail lift, which is what a retail yard with no dock needs at the far end. Fabrication lengths and anything too long for a doorway travel on the flat bed, 2.7m and 800kg.

Every class and its measurements are on the fleet page, and UK pallet sizes explained covers the footprints. Our fleet is FORS accredited and renewed for 2026.

Where Braintree work goes

Stansted west along the A120 without the M25. Witham and Chelmsford south on the A12, Colchester east, London down the A12 and the A13.

A crewed load heading into a store in another town is the common shape here, and on those the receiving unit's delivery window sets the day rather than the mileage.

Other services we run in Braintree

Same-day courier where one driver can handle the load. Next-day courier where tomorrow morning works. Multi-drop along the A120 and A12 corridors, with a fixed rate where it is a weekly route. Planning, routing and sorting for repeating movements.

The full two-man delivery service covers how a crew is booked with the vehicle, which is the detail to settle before a Freeport Village fit-out is slotted into a trading-hours window.

Braintree questions

Yes, through the service yard and inside the delivery window the village gives you. Give us the window at booking and we build the job around it, and earlier in the day is better on a fit-out.

Call and we will tell you what is free. The previous day secures the crew, and on a twenty-six mile leg with a booked window at the far end that is the arrangement we would suggest.

No. Carried in and positioned where you want it. Fitting is a separate trade, so tell us when yours is due and we will work the delivery around them.

Yes. Estate road access, yards and forklift loading, so a Luton and six pallets is realistic. The receiving yard decides which Luton, because the box version is the one with the tail lift.

The delivery address decides it. Give us the item, the floor it is going to and how it gets in, and we will tell you which you need when you book.

As a separate job with disposal attached to it. Say so in advance and we will confirm, because on a fit-out it belongs in the same plan as the delivery.

Yes. The A120 runs west from here straight to Stansted and the M11, so the run avoids the M25 entirely, which is the least reliable junction between us and anywhere north.

Yes, across the whole fleet and renewed for 2026. It is an audited standard rather than a self-declaration, which is what a construction or infrastructure gate checks before a crewed vehicle comes in.
