Same-day courier service in Tilbury
Tasito provides dedicated same-day courier services across Tilbury, covering the Port of Tilbury, the London Distribution Park and the trade and industrial units around the town. From port freight and ships' spares to pallets, equipment and time-critical consignments, we collect directly from your premises and deliver in a vehicle matched to the load. The port is the reason this page exists, and port work runs on a different clock from everything else we do.
A deadline is not a delivery time
On a normal job you give us a time you need the goods there by. On a port job the deadline is usually set by something leaving: a vessel, a ferry, a cut-off at a freight forwarder's desk. Miss it by ten minutes and the consignment does not go a bit later, it goes days later.
So for Tilbury we work backwards from the cut-off rather than forwards from the collection. Give us the actual deadline, who it is with and what reference it sits under, and we plan the run to land inside it with margin. The 4pm booking cut-off is ours. The one that matters on this page is yours.

Gates, not loading bays
The port and the distribution operations around it run gate procedures: security, booked slots, driver details in advance, and in some cases site inductions. The London Distribution Park and the terminals around Tilbury2 all work this way.
A driver arriving without a gate reference waits at the barrier, and that wait is chargeable time doing nothing. What we need from you is the gate, the slot, the reference, the site contact and whether the driver needs anything specific to get in.
Our fleet is FORS accredited and renewed for 2026, which covers the audited safety and emissions standards larger sites ask about, though individual port operators may have their own requirements on top.
We do not hold standing passes at the port. Access is arranged job by job, which is why we ask for the gate, the slot and the reference when you book.

Tilbury beyond the port
The town itself and Tilbury South cover the rest: smaller industrial units, trade and local commercial work, plus East Tilbury along the river.
Tilbury also sits inside the Thames Freeport area alongside London Gateway and Ford Dagenham, which is why a good share of the freight and logistics activity along this stretch of the river is growing rather than shrinking.

Charges
No ULEZ, no Congestion Charge. The Dartford Crossing applies only if the job carries on into Kent, at £4.20 for a two-axle van or £3.60 on a pre-pay account, free between 22:00 and 06:00.
Worth noting that Tilbury has a river crossing of its own in the Tilbury to Gravesend ferry, but it is a passenger service and not a route for a van. For anything going south of the river from here it is the Dartford Crossing or back up and through the tunnels.

What we send
Port and freight work is palletised and often heavy. Three standard or four Euro pallets in a long wheelbase at 3.3m, four standard or five Euro in an extra-long at 4.2m, six in a Luton at 1,000kg. The curtain-side Luton loads from the side by forklift, which is what the dock operations want. The box Luton has a tail lift. The flat bed at 2.7m and 800kg takes lengths and awkward shapes.
Give us individual pallet weights rather than the count. Six pallets at 250kg each is 1,500kg and over the limit on any vehicle we run, and finding that out at the gate is the worst possible time.
The fleet page has every class and Luton dimensions and payload explains why space and weight are two separate limits.

Where Tilbury work goes

Other services we run in Tilbury
Multi-drop along the Thames corridor. Next-day courier for scheduled freight that is not against a same-day cut-off. Two-man delivery for anything heading on to a site with no handling equipment. Planning, routing and sorting if you are running regular movements into the port and want them scheduled rather than booked ad hoc.
Our same-day courier service has the booking detail.

Tilbury questions
The gate, the slot time, the booking reference, the site contact, and anything the driver personally needs to get through security. Without those a driver waits at the barrier and the wait is chargeable.
That is exactly how we would rather have it. Give us the cut-off, who it is with and the reference, and we plan backwards from it with margin. A freight deadline missed by ten minutes is not a late delivery, it is next week's sailing.
Not a standing pass. We arrange access for each job through the site, and with the gate, the slot and the reference a driver goes through the gate rather than waiting at it.
A Luton holds six pallets, with 1,000kg across the whole load. That weight limit is usually what decides it on freight work rather than the floor space, so give us the individual pallet weights. Six at 250kg is 1,500kg and will not go on anything we run.
Not for a van. The Tilbury to Gravesend ferry is a passenger service. For anything going south from here it is the Dartford Crossing at £4.20 for a two-axle van, or back up and through the Blackwall or Silvertown tunnel.
Yes, Tilbury sits within the Thames Freeport area along with London Gateway and Ford Dagenham. From our side that mostly means the freight and logistics activity along this stretch of river is growing, and more of the sites run formal gate procedures.
Yes. Tilbury South, East Tilbury and the town units are ordinary commercial collections without the port paperwork, which makes them simpler and quicker to arrange.
4pm Monday to Friday is our cut-off, and on this page it is rarely the binding one. The gate hours and the freight cut-off at the far end decide the real deadline, so give us those instead.
Send us the postcodes and what is moving. You get a price in seconds and a driver within the hour.
