Fragile time-critical courier in Southend-on-Sea
Tasito moves fragile and time-critical consignments across Southend-on-Sea, from Progress Road and Cedar Park on Stock Road to Temple Farm, Rosshill Industrial Park on Sutton Road, Laurence Industrial Estate on Eastwoodbury Lane and the Shoeburyness estates at Vanguard Way and Towerfield Road. Electronics and instruments, aviation components, sign and print work, finished panels, furniture and interior pieces, prototypes and single items standing against a deadline.
A dedicated vehicle, your consignment and nothing else in the load space. Twelve miles east of us along the A127, with something like fifteen separate employment areas inside the town, so the estate name tells us more about a job than the postcode does. Bookings run to 4pm Monday to Friday, and on the airport side a handling agent's cut-off binds earlier than that.
Which estate, and what it means for the carry
Progress Road, off the A127 on the north west side, is the largest of them and the broadest in its mix: engineering, joinery, packaging, plastics, trade counters, car hire and a brewery. Yards, estate roads and forklifts, so a vehicle reaches the door and the carry is a few steps.
Stock Road carries Cedar Park, and Temple Farm sits beside it. Engineering and trade businesses on both, with printing, joinery, plumbing supplies and car services on the Temple Farm side. A collection there might be a pallet of pipe fittings or one finished piece, so say which and the vehicle follows.
Sutton Road holds Rosshill Industrial Park, which runs to sign making, wholesale, timber, kitchens, furniture, and tool and vehicle hire, and that is where most of the glass, mirror and finished-surface work comes from. Up on the northern edge, Comet Way covers printing, electronics, timber, food and cash and carry wholesale.
On the Arterial Road, Airborne Industrial Estate is general distribution, vehicle bodywork and food and linen supply. Laurence Industrial Estate, on Eastwoodbury Lane, is small units: electrical, upholstery, tile and interiors firms, where a smaller van turns round quicker. Short Street, north of the centre and following the railway, holds printing, waste and customs services along with Royal Mail and bus depot operations.
Shoeburyness is its own cluster. Metal services and distribution at Vanguard Way, with a Seedbed Centre there for small firms; engineering, printing, laundry and aviation components on Towerfield Road; packaging on Campfield Road.

The airport, and the cargo cut-off
North of the town is London Southend Airport, with Aviation Way and the business park beside it. Nothing about air cargo runs to a delivery time. The binding moment is the handling agent's cut-off, and it falls well ahead of the flight.
So we want the cut-off, the agent and the reference, and the run is built backwards from them with margin. Ten minutes past a cut-off is not a late delivery, it is a day's delay. Procedures on the cargo side are set by the site, so tell us what the gate asks for and the driver turns up holding it.

How the handling is agreed
Blankets and straps on everything. Panels, sign work and finished surfaces travel upright and supported, with the face that gets inspected on arrival left clear of anything resting against it. Progress Road and Temple Farm are yard addresses with room to stop, so the carry is short and the stopping point is confirmed with your contact at booking.
We do not pack and we do not crate. The driver's view on the packaging is given at your unit, before loading, because that is the point at which it is any use to you, and we would rather say so at collection than drive it. Where a purpose-made case has to come first, that is said at the point of booking.
Our part closes at the signature. Unpacking, installation and commissioning are another trade, and on a cargo job the consignment passes to the handling agent at their counter rather than carrying on with us.

Shoeburyness, and the eight miles
Shoeburyness sits around eight miles beyond the centre, on the far side of the town, so a collection at Vanguard Way or Towerfield Road is a longer run than one at Progress Road, shared town name or not. Name the estate and the window we give you is the window we mean.
That distance is a reason to fix the hour rather than take a half day. A booked time puts the driver at your door with room in hand instead of at the end of a stretched afternoon with a finished panel in the back.

Getting in and out
One road serves the town, the A127, and the Weir is the junction that sets the timing: westbound it bites in the morning, eastbound in the evening. A collection here bound for London takes that junction and then the A13, back to back, so the earlier version of the booking is the faster one and we quote the window we expect.
Essex means no charges at this end. They arise only where the delivery address is in London, and the figure comes to you before the van leaves.

What we send and what fits
Electronics, instruments and aviation components mostly go in the short wheelbase: 450kg, 2.1m of load length, one pallet where it is palletised at all. A medium carries 800kg across two standard pallets or three Euro. A long wheelbase gives 3.3m and three standard, the extra-long 4.2m and four, five on the Euro footprint, and a Luton six at 1,000kg.
Progress Road and Vanguard Way are forklift addresses, so the curtain-side Luton opening along the flank is quicker there, and the box version carries its own tail lift. Metal lengths, and anything that will not pass a doorway, go on the flat bed at 2.7m and 800kg, which also lets a long panel come off the side upright.
Every class sits on the fleet page, UK pallet sizes explained sets the standard footprint against the Euro one, and FORS accreditation is held across the fleet, renewed for 2026.

Where Southend-on-Sea work goes
Back along the A127 to Benfleet and Rayleigh, with Basildon beyond them. Canvey Island comes off the A13, and London is at the far end of the same run.

Other services we run in Southend-on-Sea
Two-man delivery for anything going inside a unit. Same-day courier where the item is robust and the clock is all that matters. Multi-drop down the A127 corridor, at a fixed rate where the run recurs weekly. Planning, routing and sorting for movements that come round again. Next-day courier where tomorrow is soon enough.
The fragile time-critical courier service page sets out the handling agreement, including how we work back from a cargo cut-off.

Southend-on-Sea questions
More than the town name does. Yards and forklifts at Progress Road and Vanguard Way leave the whole range open. Laurence Industrial Estate is small units, where a short wheelbase gets in and out faster. Name the estate and we allocate from it.
No, and neither is a service we offer. The driver gives you a view on the packaging at your own premises, before anything is loaded.
That is the version we prefer. Give us the cut-off, the agent and the reference, and the run gets planned back from it with margin, which also leaves the handover at the counter unhurried.
No, it is roughly eight miles further out on the far side. Vanguard Way and Towerfield Road are longer runs than Progress Road despite the shared town name, so we quote against the estate.
Yes, on the flat bed: 2.7m of length, 800kg of payload. Metal services sit at that end of the town, so the question comes up there more than on the other estates.
It is the junction between us and you, and it backs up morning and evening. A collection here going into London meets it and then the A13, so an early booking is the faster one and we quote on that basis.
Which face it is. That decides where the blankets sit and where the straps go, and it is settled before the piece is lifted rather than after.
Ours is 4pm, Monday to Friday. Air cargo binds earlier at the freight desk, and a Shoeburyness collection tightens it again on distance, so give us the time that governs your consignment.
Send us the postcodes and what is moving. You get a price in seconds and a driver within the hour.
