Two-man delivery in Stratford

Tasito runs two-man delivery across Stratford, covering the development sites around the park and the International Quarter, the small units at Fish Island and Hackney Wick, and the studio and media businesses at Here East. Equipment, office furniture, fixtures, studio kit and awkward single items, with a crew of two travelling with the vehicle.

More of our Stratford work goes to a gate or an upper floor than to a loading bay, and both are the reason a second person is on the job. Our fleet is FORS accredited and renewed for 2026.

The site gate, and the accreditation

Across Greater London, the major construction and infrastructure sites accept deliveries only from FORS-accredited operators. Arrive at a Tier 1 contractor's gate without it and the load goes home on the vehicle.

Ours is accredited and was renewed for 2026. The standard is audited rather than self-declared, and it covers safety, driver training, fuel use and emissions across every vehicle we run.

A site booking needs four things from you: which gate, what time the slot is, who the contact is, and any induction or banksman requirement. Inductions are arranged beforehand rather than at the barrier, which matters more on a crewed job because a crew held outside a gate is a crew not carrying.

One point worth separating, because the two are often confused. FORS is an operator standard. ULEZ is a per-vehicle emissions charge. They are not the same thing and accreditation does not exempt a vehicle from the charge.

Fish Island, Hackney Wick and Here East

Off the development sites, the commercial space is small units rather than warehousing. Studios, workshops, light manufacturing and food and drink producers fill the converted and purpose-built units at Fish Island and Hackney Wick, with technology, studio and media businesses at Here East on the park side.

Small units mean no forklift and frequently no yard, so the second person is doing the work a loading dock would otherwise do. The vehicle is chosen for the street rather than the pallet count, which here usually means a short wheelbase at 450kg or a medium at 800kg.

Retail work at the shopping centre goes through its service yard on a booked window, so that timetable governs rather than ours. Give us the window and we build the job around it.

What the crew does, and what it does not

Carrying it in from the vehicle, placing it where you want it on the floor it is going to, and removing packaging where that was agreed at booking.

Assembly, installation and commissioning sit outside it. On a studio or office delivery that is worth stating plainly, because equipment arriving in sections stays in sections until a fitter arrives.

What we need from you is the delivery end in detail: the floor, the goods lift's internal depth, the tightest doorway and the longest item. On a site, the gate and the induction. Those few details decide how much of the job is carrying and how much is waiting.

Road closures and the everyday pinch points

Events at the park and the stadium close roads, and on those days an address that is twenty minutes off the A12 can be out of reach entirely. Where we know one is scheduled we say so at booking and put the job in the morning or on the following day.

Day to day the delays are southbound on the A12 at the Blackwall approach and at the Bow interchange, in both peaks. On a crewed job the hour is chosen deliberately rather than inherited.

Charges

The Ultra Low Emission Zone covers Stratford, at £12.50 a day for a vehicle that does not comply. We send compliant vehicles into London, and if the right vehicle for a job ever is not, we tell you before we set off.

There is no Congestion Charge here and no river to cross, so no tunnel toll either. On charges alone that puts Stratford among the cheaper London addresses we serve, next to £18 a day for a City delivery.

What we send and what fits

Site work is palletised and heavy. Three standard pallets or four Euro fit the 3.3m long wheelbase, four standard or five Euro the 4.2m extra-long, and six of either the Luton at 1,000kg. Where a site has no forklift, the box Luton's tail lift is the only thing that will get a pallet down to ground level.

Unit and studio work is the opposite. A short wheelbase at 450kg or a medium at 800kg reaches addresses a Luton cannot, and on a crewed job the carry is the work rather than the lift.

Lengths and materials that will not pass through a door go on the flat bed, 2.7m and 800kg. Every class is listed on the fleet page, and UK pallet sizes explained sets out the footprints.

Where Stratford work goes

Canary Wharf and the City are short runs south. Enfield is the one sensible north London pairing. Back into Essex on the A12.

Other services we run in Stratford

Same-day courier where the load does not need a second person. Next-day courier for scheduled site deliveries, which frequently fits better because site slots are booked in advance in any case. Multi-drop across the unit estates and the sites. Planning, routing and sorting where the same movements repeat.

The full two-man delivery service covers how a crewed job is quoted.

Stratford questions

Yes, renewed for 2026. It covers the whole fleet rather than a single vehicle, which is what a Tier 1 contractor's gate is checking for.

The gate, the slot time, the site contact, and any banksman or driver induction requirement. Inductions are arranged in advance rather than at the barrier.

No. FORS is an operator standard and ULEZ is a per-vehicle emissions charge. We send compliant vehicles, and if the right vehicle for a job ever is not, we tell you before we set off.

Usually not, and we would not send one. Those are small units on narrow streets, so a short or medium wheelbase is the right vehicle even when the pallet count suggests otherwise.

Call and we will tell you what is free. Booking the previous day secures the crew, which with a booked site slot at the far end is the arrangement we would recommend.

Yes, through the service yard and inside its booked delivery windows. Give us the window and we build the job around it.

We flag it at booking if we know an event is scheduled, and suggest a morning run or the following day. Road closures around the park can make an address unreachable for the afternoon.

Yes. Give us the floor, the goods lift's internal depth and the longest item. Where there is no lift, the number of flights and the tightest turn decide what can go up.
