Next-day courier service in Purfleet-on-Thames

Tasito runs next-day courier work across Purfleet-on-Thames, thirteen miles west of us along the A13. There are two sides to the place. The established side is industrial: Milehams Industrial Estate at the centre of it, Purfleet Industrial Park over at Aveley, Aveley Industrial Estate at South Ockendon, plus Botany and Tank Lane down by the river. All of those are ordinary estate collections with yards, forklifts and room for a Luton. The newer side is production and regeneration, the town sitting inside the Thames Estuary Production Corridor with a town centre regeneration worth £1bn under way and film and television studio development alongside it.

Those two sides book differently, and a day of notice is what separates them cleanly. An industrial pallet off Milehams is matched to a vehicle the evening before and collected on a morning slot. A studio or site consignment is planned backwards from a call time or a gate slot, with the induction and the paperwork arranged while there is still time to arrange it. Orders close at 4pm, Monday to Friday.

The industrial side, planned a day out

Milehams and the estates around it are the easiest addresses on this stretch of the corridor. Estate roads and yards rather than docks, a forklift in a good many units, and a collection that takes minutes once the van is in.

For those the booked slot is mostly convenience, and the convenience is real: the vehicle is held the evening before against a count you have already given us, so the morning is a matter of turning up. Where there is a forklift the curtain-side Luton loads from the flank, and where there is not the box Luton's tail lift takes the pallet off the load floor. Six pallets inside a 1,000kg payload either way.

Call times are not office hours

For a delivery into a studio or onto a shoot, the deadline is a call time, and a call time can fall before dawn or late at night. Cases, cameras, lighting, set and props rarely palletise, so the flat bed (800kg across 2.7m) is often a better answer than a panel van, generally with a crew of two alongside it, since production kit has to be carried rather than dropped.

This is the clearest case on the page for ordering a day ahead. Our 4pm deadline governs accepting the order. A delivery timed to a pre-dawn call wants the driver and the vehicle held the evening before instead of found on the morning. Send the real time and we work to that.

The site gate, and the accreditation

Regeneration brings construction activity with it, and sites along this corridor increasingly require accreditation of the vehicles delivering to them. A van without it is turned round at the gate with the load aboard.

The whole fleet carries FORS accreditation, renewed for 2026: an audited standard taking in driver training, emissions management, fuel efficiency and safety.

A site delivery wants the gate, the slot, a site contact and any requirement for a banksman or a driver induction. Inductions are set up in advance, which is the other reason planning suits site work. The slot is booked ahead in any case, so the vehicle and the paperwork can both be settled against it a day out.

What the vehicle is held against

Short wheelbase: one pallet, 450kg, 2.1m. Medium: 800kg, two standard pallets or three Euro. Long wheelbase: 3.3m, three standard or four Euro. Extra-long: 4.2m, four standard or five Euro. Luton: six of either inside 1,000kg. Set pieces and construction lengths go on the flat bed.

Because the count is known the evening before, the class is chosen against your load and against the access at both ends rather than against what is standing free in the morning. Tell us what handling equipment there is at each end, since the two are often different. The fleet page lists every class, and UK pallet sizes explained covers standard against Euro footprints.

What the run costs

Neither the ULEZ nor the Congestion Charge reaches here. This is Thurrock, and Thurrock is Essex.

That leaves the crossing at Dartford as the only charge, and only where a job continues into Kent: £4.20 for a two-axle van, £3.60 on a pre-pay account, nothing at all between 22:00 and 06:00. The queue counts for more than the charge does. The approach to the M25 is close, and when it backs up this stretch of the A13 feels it sooner than almost anywhere else on the corridor, which is a sound argument for a morning slot planned the night before.

Where Purfleet-on-Thames work goes

Along the corridor to Lakeside, Grays, Thurrock and Tilbury, which all sit on the same road and travel well together on one planned vehicle.

Up the A13 to London, where a morning departure gets the van across before the inbound traffic thickens, and across to Park Royal where the consignment is heading to a prop house at the other end of the production work.

Purfleet-on-Thames questions

4pm, Monday to Friday. Earlier helps where the job needs the flat bed, a two-person crew or a timed call time, because the vehicle and the driver are held that evening against what you have told us.

It is what next-day is for. Tell us the day before and the vehicle and driver are allocated for it. Our 4pm deadline governs taking the order rather than when we can deliver.

Completely. Off Milehams it is palletised, loaded by forklift and priced on load length. A studio consignment is cases, lighting or set, seldom palletised, normally on the flat bed with a crew of two and a call time in place of a window. Say which you have and the booking goes a different way.

Yes. FORS accreditation runs across the fleet and was renewed for 2026, which is what sites along this corridor increasingly ask for. Send the gate, the slot, a contact and any banksman or induction requirement, inductions being arranged beforehand.

Estate roads and yards rather than docks, which makes it among the easier sites on this corridor. A forklift puts the load into the curtain-side Luton from the flank; with no forklift, the box version's tail lift brings the pallet down. Either way it is six pallets inside 1,000kg.

Not the charge, unless your job continues into Kent at £4.20 for a two-axle van. The queue is another matter. With the M25 approach close by, a queue there slows this stretch sooner than elsewhere, so the slot is planned around it rather than quoted on a clear road.

Yes, and Grays, Tilbury and West Thurrock too. One corridor holds them all, so the sensible shape is a single planned vehicle with the stops sequenced the evening before.

Yes. Both are on this run and both are ordinary estate collections with yard access: Purfleet Industrial Park sits at Aveley, Aveley Industrial Estate at South Ockendon.
