Fashion and retail courier services in Grays

Tasito collects fashion and retail stock across Grays, from the distribution sites and trade counters at Hogg Lane, Grays West and Grays South at Manorway, and from Thurrock Park and Globe Works at Little Thurrock. From there it goes to stores at Lakeside and along the Thames corridor, or into London.

Grays is about ten miles west of us on the A13, so the collection leg is short and most of the planning goes into the site gate and the store window. Bookings run until 4pm, Monday to Friday.

Planning, routing and sorting

The work that happens before the van moves. Routes built around your delivery windows, loads sorted and sequenced so each consignment comes off where it should, and one team accountable for the job from the first call to the last signature.

Same-day courier service

A dedicated vehicle for your consignment, collected within the hour across London, Essex, Kent and the Home Counties, and driven straight to the delivery address with nothing else on board. No depot, no overnight sort, no waiting for a van to fill up. The driver who collects your goods is the driver who delivers them.

Next-day courier service

For consignments that have to arrive tomorrow without paying same-day rates. Your goods are collected today and delivered the next working day, on a dedicated vehicle rather than through a parcel network, so nothing is handled twice and nothing sits in a depot overnight.

Two-man delivery

An extra pair of hands for the jobs one driver cannot do safely. Two crew on the vehicle, so heavy and bulky goods can be carried, manoeuvred through doorways and lifts, and put exactly where they need to go rather than left inside the front door.

Multi-drop courier service

A whole list of stops in one planned sequence, with booked goods-in windows as fixed points and every drop tracked to its address.

Where retail stock sits in Grays

Hogg Lane, Grays West and Grays South at Manorway are the three main employment areas, and Titan Pitt is off Hogg Lane. Thurrock Park and Globe Works sit just to the east at Little Thurrock. A lot of the retail stock we collect here comes off distribution sites in those areas.

The type of site matters more than its estate. Distribution operations run booked slots and gate procedures, so send the booking reference, the gate and the slot time with the job. Without them the driver waits at the barrier and the time comes off your store window.

From the distribution site to the store

Grays, Tilbury, Purfleet, West Thurrock and Lakeside are effectively one run for us. A collection in Grays and a delivery to a Lakeside store is a single short job, and several stores along the corridor can share a vehicle.

At the store end, a shopping centre delivery goes through the service yard inside the centre's slot, usually early. A retail park unit is easier to reach and keeps longer hours. Give us the yard name and the slot, and we set the collection time at the Grays site to meet it.

What we send, and what fits

Retail stock out of a distribution site is often palletised. A short wheelbase takes one pallet in 2.1m, a medium two standard or three Euro in 2.7m, a long wheelbase three standard or four Euro in 3.3m, an extra-long four standard or five Euro in 4.2m, and a Luton six.

Most distribution sites load by forklift from a dock, where the curtain-side Luton is quickest because it opens along the side. If the store has no dock and no forklift, the box Luton's tail lift brings the pallet to the ground. Hanging garments and display stock fill a vehicle before they reach its payload, so give us the rails or metres if any of the load hangs. The fleet page covers every class and UK pallet sizes explained the two footprints. Our fleet is FORS accredited and renewed for 2026.

The A13 and the Dartford Crossing

The A13 at the Manorway and Lakeside junctions is where a Grays job slows down, and the queue for the Dartford Crossing on the M25 often spills back onto it. That can hold up a store delivery that never goes near the crossing, so for an early yard slot we build that risk into the timing.

If the stock is going south of the river, the Dart Charge applies: £4.20 for a two-axle van as a one-off payment or £3.60 on a pre-pay account, and free between 22:00 and 06:00. We tell you at booking which crossing is better that day. Grays itself is in Thurrock, outside ULEZ and the Congestion Charge.

Where Grays retail work goes

Lakeside, West Thurrock, Purfleet and Tilbury on the same corridor. London back up the A13. Basildon to the east. Store rounds along that stretch suit a multi-drop run, and a recurring weekly round can go on a fixed rate.

Where fixtures or display units have to be carried into the store and placed, book two-man delivery from Grays. The crew carries and positions the goods. Assembly and installation are left to your fitter.

Grays questions

Yes. Give us the booking reference, the gate number and the slot time when you place the job. Most distribution sites run slots, and a driver without a reference waits at the barrier on your time.

Yes. Grays, West Thurrock, Purfleet, Tilbury and Lakeside are one run for us, so a Grays collection and a Lakeside delivery is a single short job instead of two.

The curtain-side Luton where the site loads by forklift, because side loading is quicker. If the store at the far end has no dock and no forklift, the box Luton's tail lift is the better choice. Tell us what is at both ends.

It can, even when the delivery never crosses the river, because the M25 queue spills onto the A13 at Lakeside. For an early yard slot we allow for that in the timing instead of quoting a clear road.

Only if the delivery goes into Kent. A two-axle van is £4.20 one-off or £3.60 on a pre-pay account, free from 22:00 to 06:00. If the stock stays in Essex or goes into London it does not apply.

Yes, as two-man delivery. A crew of two carries the fixtures from the vehicle and positions them in the unit. Assembly and installation are not included, so send us your fitter's start time.

That depends on the number of rails or metres of hanging, so give us that figure. Hanging stock needs height and clear floor, so a vehicle that takes six pallets will not take the same volume on rails.

No. Grays is in Thurrock, outside ULEZ and the Congestion Charge. The only charge that can come into a Grays job is the Dartford Crossing, and only if the delivery goes into Kent.
