Along most of Brentwood High Street the loading rules stop a vehicle standing at the kerb while a delivery gets sorted out. We come in with a smaller van at a time agreed with the shop, and we need the door open and somebody there to take the goods when it pulls up.
If the stock goes up to a floor above the shop, tell us the flights and the tightest turn, because the staircase decides what physically goes up. For heavier pieces or anything that has to be carried in and placed, book a crew of two.
Childerditch and the other estates
Childerditch Industrial Park is right on the A127, so collecting stock from it never takes us through the town centre. The park covers 43 acres, with estate roads and mostly yard loading, and a Luton gets in easily.
Beyond the town there are more units at West Horndon Industrial Estate and at Hallsford Bridge Industrial Estate in Stondon Massey, plus starter units at Warley. For us, Shenfield, Hutton and Warley are part of the Brentwood run.
What we send, and what fits
From small to large: one pallet in a short wheelbase, two standard or three Euro in a medium, three standard or four Euro in a long wheelbase (3.3m), four standard or five Euro in an extra-long (4.2m), and six in a Luton measuring 4.2m by 2.0m by 2.1m. At Childerditch a Luton is no trouble, and the box Luton's tail lift covers a unit with no forklift. On the High Street a Luton is rarely the answer, so the address has as much say in the vehicle as the load does.

The A127 and junction 28
M25 junction 28 is barely a mile away. When it queues, the queue reaches back onto the A12 and the A127, and the A127 has its own slow points at the Brentwood and Dunton junctions in each peak. A run that takes minutes mid-morning can take far longer at eight, so the time we quote is for the hour you book.
Being so close to junction 28 also helps. A collection here starts almost on the M25, so stock going up the M11 to Harlow and Stansted, or round towards Enfield, adds hardly any mileage.
Where Brentwood retail work goes
Most Brentwood stock goes to London, along the A127 and the A13 or by the M25, depending on the postcode. Going north, Shenfield and Billericay are on the way, and a store drop in Chelmsford is a short run. For Harlow, junction 28 and the M11 make Brentwood the best starting point we have for that trip.
