Twelve miles east on the A127. Same-day collections from Progress Road, Stock Road, Temple Farm and the Shoeburyness estates.

Same-day courier service in Southend-on-Sea

Tasito provides dedicated same-day courier services across Southend-on-Sea, including Progress Road, Stock Road and Temple Farm, Comet Way and the Shoeburyness estates. From trade stock and machine parts to pallets, equipment and time-critical consignments, we collect directly from your premises and deliver in a vehicle matched to the load. There is more industry here than people expect, spread across about fifteen separate employment areas, and the estate you are on tells us more about the job than the town name does.

The medical cluster at Stock Road and Temple Farm

Cedar Park on Stock Road and Temple Farm next to it hold a health technology cluster: medical product manufacturing and the logistics that goes with it, alongside engineering and trade businesses.

That matters to us because medical consignments are not ordinary freight. They often need a specification agreed before the booking rather than after, and some need temperature control. We run a dedicated refrigerated vehicle with an insulated body and its own refrigeration unit holding chilled or frozen, six pallet spaces and a 1,000kg payload. Medical and pharmaceutical jobs we assess one at a time rather than accepting as a category, so send us the handling specification, the temperature range and any documentation that has to travel with the goods and we will tell you plainly whether we are right for it.

Temple Farm is also plumbing supplies, printing, joinery and car services, so a Temple Farm collection could be a pallet of pipe fittings or a box of sterile product. Tell us which.

Progress Road and the rest

Progress Road off the A127 on the north west side is the largest estate in Southend and the most mixed: plastics, packaging, engineering, joinery, trade counters, car hire and a brewery. Estate roads, yards, forklift loading, comfortable for a Luton.

Comet Way on the northern edge near the airport runs to timber, food and cash and carry wholesale, electronics, hospital trust services and printing. Rosshill Industrial Park on Sutton Road covers wholesale, sign making, tool and vehicle hire, timber, furniture and kitchens. Airborne Industrial Estate on the Arterial Road is vehicle bodywork, food and linen suppliers and general distribution. Laurence Industrial Estate on Eastwoodbury Lane is small-unit work: upholstery, electrical, tile and interiors firms.

Short Street, north of the centre along the railway, holds Royal Mail and bus depot operations, waste services, printing and customs services.

Out at Shoeburyness, Vanguard Way is the heavier end with metal services and distribution plus a Seedbed Centre for small firms, Towerfield Road runs to aviation components, engineering, printing and laundry, and Campfield Road covers health care and packaging.

The airport

London Southend Airport sits north of the town with Aviation Way and the business park alongside it.

Air freight changes the deadline. What matters is the cut-off at the handling agent's desk, which sits well before the flight, not a delivery time. Give us the cut-off, the agent and the reference and we plan backwards from it. Cargo procedures are site-controlled, so tell us what the gate requires.

Getting in and out

The A127 is the only real route and Rayleigh Weir is the junction that decides the timing, eastbound in the evening and westbound in the morning. A Southend collection with a London drop crosses the Weir and then the A13, two bottlenecks in sequence, which makes a late afternoon booking the slowest version of that job.

Shoeburyness adds eight miles on the far side of the town, so a Vanguard Way or Towerfield Road collection is a longer run than a Progress Road one even though both are in Southend.

Charges

None. Southend is Essex. Charges only apply if the delivery is in London and we tell you which before we set off.

What we send

One pallet in a short wheelbase at 450kg, two standard or three Euro in a medium at 800kg, three standard or four Euro in a long wheelbase at 3.3m, four standard or five Euro in an extra-long, six in a Luton at 1,000kg. The curtain-side Luton loads from the side by forklift, which suits Progress Road and Vanguard Way. The box Luton has a tail lift. The flat bed at 2.7m and 800kg takes metal lengths and anything that will not go through a door.

Our fleet is FORS accredited and renewed for 2026. The fleet page has every class.

Southend-on-Sea questions

Progress Road, and it is the largest in the town. Estate roads, yards and forklift loading, so six pallets at 1,000kg is realistic. Laurence Industrial Estate on Eastwoodbury Lane is the opposite: small units where a smaller van gets in and out faster.

Yes, and it is assessed job by job rather than as a category. Send us the handling specification, the temperature range if there is one, the packaging and any documentation that travels with the goods. If it needs a validated process or a recorded chain of custody we will say so rather than taking the booking and hoping.

Our refrigerated vehicle has an insulated body and its own refrigeration unit and holds chilled or frozen for the journey, with six pallet spaces and a 1,000kg payload. Tell us the range the goods have to stay inside and we confirm before quoting whether we can hold it for that run.

No, it is about eight miles further on the far side of the town. A Vanguard Way or Towerfield Road collection is a longer run than Progress Road even though both have Southend addresses, so give us the estate rather than just the town.

Yes. What we need is the cut-off at the handling agent's desk rather than a delivery time, because the two are hours apart. Give us the agent, the reference and the cut-off and we work backwards from it.

It is the junction between us and Southend and it backs up in both peaks. A Southend collection going to London crosses the Weir and then the A13, one bottleneck after another, so an early booking is materially faster than a late one on this route.

Yes, on the flat bed, which has a 2.7m load length and carries 800kg. Vanguard Way is the heavier end of Southend with metal services on it, so this comes up here more than on the other estates.

4pm is the booking cut-off, Monday to Friday. For airport cargo the freight desk's cut-off binds earlier, and for a Shoeburyness collection the extra distance tightens it too.
