Fragile time-critical courier in Thurrock

Tasito provides dedicated fragile and time-critical courier services across Thurrock and the surrounding business areas, including Grays, West Thurrock, Tilbury, Purfleet-on-Thames, Lakeside, Aveley and South Ockendon. From instruments and electronics to glass, finished panels, prototypes and framed work, we collect directly from your premises and take the consignment straight to its destination in a vehicle matched to the item, with the handling agreed before anything is loaded. With Thurrock around ten miles from our Essex base along the A13, we are well placed for quick collections and onward delivery into London, Kent and throughout the UK.

Thurrock is a borough rather than a town, and the handover changes with the site, so the first thing a booking settles is which part of the borough is meant. Bookings run until 4pm, and many gate hours here finish before that.

The parts of Thurrock we collect from

Grays covers the town centre and the employment land at Hogg Lane, Grays West and Manorway, with Thurrock Park and Globe Works at Little Thurrock. West Thurrock is industry and distribution, including the Lakeside Estate and Waterglade, with docks, forklifts and booked slots.

Tilbury means the port, with security and gate procedure. Purfleet-on-Thames is industrial, with Milehams Industrial Estate among it, and Lakeside is retail, where the service yards run delivery windows. Aveley and South Ockendon hold Purfleet Industrial Park and Aveley Industrial Estate. Give us the site, the gate and a contact and the handover is settled at booking.

How the roads behave

The A13 is the road in from Essex and London. When the Dartford Crossing approach queues, the tailback can reach the A13, so a collection here can lose time to a crossing the job never makes. We build that into the window.

Thurrock is outside ULEZ and the Congestion Charge. If the delivery is in Kent, the Dart Charge applies at the crossing, and we include it in the price with the route.

How the consignment is handled

Your consignment travels on its own, with no co-loading and no depot stop. Instruments are tied down so nothing can move, and glass and finished panels stand upright and braced with the edges covered.

We do not pack or build cases. The driver will tell you at your premises if the wrapping is not up to the journey, and an item that needs a case is flagged at booking. Our part ends with the signature at the agreed point, wherever in the borough that is.

What we send and what fits

The site picks the vehicle as much as the load does. A single item goes in a short wheelbase, which also stops outside a trade counter door, and longer pieces go in a long or extra-long wheelbase.

Distribution sites suit the curtain-side Luton, which opens along the side for a forklift, and the box body brings a tail lift for anywhere without equipment. Panels and lengths that will not pass a doorway go on the flat bed. The fleet page has dimensions for every class.

Where Thurrock work goes

London is west along the A13 and Basildon is east. Kent is across the Dartford Crossing. The pages for Grays, Tilbury, Purfleet-on-Thames and Lakeside cover each site in more detail.

Thurrock questions

Which part of it. A port counter, a retail yard and a trade counter are three different handovers, and the borough holds all of them. A site name, a gate and a contact is enough to get it right first time.

No. Packing and case-making are separate trades. We carry what you hand over, and if the wrapping will not survive the journey, the driver will tell you at your premises before loading.

Yes. The sites sit along one corridor, so we put the stops in order on one planned route, with the delicate item loaded last so it comes off first.

Yes. Aveley holds Purfleet Industrial Park, South Ockendon has Aveley Industrial Estate, and East Tilbury follows the river east of the port. Give us the full address, as none of them is on the main corridor.

Because the queue on the approach can reach the A13, which is how we get to you. We put that in the window rather than quoting an empty road.

No. Thurrock is outside ULEZ and the Congestion Charge. London charges apply only where the delivery address is in London.

Usually the curtain-side Luton, because it opens along the side and a forklift loads it directly. Send the gate reference and the slot so the driver goes straight through.

Often. Our bookings run until 4pm, Monday to Friday, while the port, the distribution sites and the retail yards keep their own hours, so we work from the site's deadline.
