Fragile time-critical courier in Canary Wharf

Tasito provides dedicated fragile and time-critical courier services across Canary Wharf and the surrounding business areas on the Isle of Dogs, including the tower estate, South Quay and Heron Quays. From screens and IT equipment to framed work and presentation material, we collect directly from your premises and take the consignment straight to its destination in a vehicle matched to the item and to the building's goods-in, with the handling agreed before anything is loaded.

Most of what we move into Canary Wharf is office and event work: AV and IT kit, displays and single items with a meeting or a signing waiting on them. Bookings run until 4pm, and for a tower address the building's own delivery slot matters as much as our cut-off.

The parts of Canary Wharf we deliver to

The tower estate takes deliveries through basement service bays, with height restrictions, booked slots and security screening. South Quay and Heron Quays have smaller offices, some with their own goods-in and some with none. Name the building at booking and we check the bay before choosing the vehicle.

Most buildings expect a delivery to be booked in against a named recipient, and screening at the gate takes time, so the window allows for it. What we need is the building, the floor or company, a contact name and mobile, and the goods-in reference if the building issues one. If the item has to go beyond the bay and up in a goods lift, tell us at booking.

How the roads and charges work

Canary Wharf is outside the Congestion Charge zone, which covers central London only. ULEZ covers every London borough, and any charge that applies to the vehicle is in the price before we go.

From Essex the A13 brings us in without crossing the river. The Blackwall and Silvertown tunnels are both charged, so a job that goes on to the south bank picks up a toll in each direction, and we include it in the price.

How the consignment is handled

Your consignment travels on its own, with no co-loading and no depot stop. Screens and framed work stand upright and braced with the edges covered, and cased kit is tied down so it cannot move. If one surface matters more than the rest, say so at booking.

We do not pack or build cases. The driver will tell you before loading if the wrapping will not survive a run that ends in a basement ramp and a goods lift. Our part ends with the signature on the agreed floor, from the named recipient on the booking.

What we send and what fits

Most of this work goes in the smallest van we run. A short wheelbase suits documents, cased kit and single items, and it has the best chance of a legal stop on the estate roads.

Many tower bays will not clear a Luton, so larger deliveries usually go in a long or extra-long wheelbase, running twice where the volume needs it. Anything too long for a van door goes on the flat bed. The fleet page has dimensions for every class.

Where Canary Wharf work goes

The City is a short run west and Greenwich is across the river by the Blackwall tunnel. Stratford is north on the A12, and the A13 takes the van back out to Essex.

Other services we run in Canary Wharf

Same-day courier where the item is robust and the slot is the only constraint. Two-man delivery for IT, AV and furniture going up to a floor. Multi-drop across several towers in one planned run. Next-day courier where tomorrow morning's slot is soon enough.

Canary Wharf questions

The agreement made before anything is loaded. Same-day already gives you a dedicated vehicle and no depot. A fragile booking also settles the vehicle against the bay, the slot, the named recipient and how the item is secured, before the driver sets off.

No. Packing and case-making are separate trades. We carry what you present, and if the wrapping will not survive the run, the driver will tell you before loading.

Usually not. Most tower basement bays have a height bar that a Luton will not clear, so a long or extra-long wheelbase goes instead, running twice if the volume needs it. Name the building and we check the bay before booking.

Yes, where the building issues one, because it gets the driver past the barrier. We also need the building, the floor or company, a contact name and a mobile number.

It varies by building, so the window includes an allowance for it. Give us the time the item has to be there and we plan the run back from it.

No. The Congestion Charge covers central London, and Canary Wharf is outside the zone. ULEZ is separate and covers every London borough.

Only if the job crosses the river. Canary Wharf is on the north bank, so a collection from Essex delivered here does not use a tunnel. If the item goes on to Greenwich, the Blackwall or Silvertown toll applies and is in the price.

Yes, with a second person booked with the vehicle. Tell us at booking if the route is by goods lift or through a service corridor, as it changes how the job is planned.
